CFS offers a full range of environmental contaminant sampling and analysis services. We conduct soil, soil gas, and groundwater sampling, including discrete and representative sampling and vertical aquifer profiling.
Soil and groundwater sampling is typically performed to determine the presence and distribution of contaminants. The samples we collect are analyzed by certified laboratory testing methods.
CFS's sampling services include soil, groundwater and soil gas sampling for subsurface investigation and site assessments.

Characterization of industrial waste determines if the waste must be classified as hazardous for disposal purposes. The US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) sets standards for waste characterization and the handling and disposal of various classes of waste.
We sample and analyze industrial waste for classification, and recommend the best course of action to remediate or remove the contaminated material.

When indoor air quality is suspect, we test air and soil gas samples to determine the source and severity of the contamination. Sub-slab soil gas sampling, where samples are taken though testing holes drilled in a building's concrete slab, is used to determine the potential for vapor intrusion and to evaluate whether the subsurface is the source of indoor contaminants.
We use the least invasive methods possible to collect samples, and once an analysis is complete, we customize a remediation strategy to provide the most efficient solution.

Sometimes, a property that's been forgotten or neglected for years will present an assortment of unidentified drums, some rusted through, some toppled over, but all potentially damaging.
Our teams will index and inventory each drum and sample the contents for analysis. If contamination is confirmed, we can arrange for the safe recovery or disposal of the contents and containers.
