The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 requires that impacts to the natural and built environment be evaluated prior to decision making and federal approval. NEPA documentation varies greatly depending on project size, associated impacts and funding source. CFS staff experience spans developing Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) for large projects with significant environmental impacts to completing Categorical Exclusion (CE) documents or checklists for minor maintenance projects with little or no resulting impacts. We have completed NEPA documentation in support of projects funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Economic Development Administration (EDA) and more.
